What is the life coaching process?

The Life Coaching process is based on the premise that YOU are the expert in your life and throughout the Life Coaching Process. The Life Coach engages in a process of non-judgmental listening, inquiry, feedback, and support which allows you to grow, learn, and achieve results quickly. The Life Coaching process is inquiry-oriented rather than advice-oriented or psychotherapeutic. A Life Coach elicits your greatness through careful listening and skillful questioning that triggers answers from you and helps you move forward toward the goals YOU have identified. Throughout the Life Coaching Process, the Life Coach supports you, as you tap into your potential, by focusing on the present and future and drawing from you what’s working and what’s possible. The Life Coaching Process is dynamic, goal oriented, and very exciting!

What is the benefit of having a life coach?

Life Coaching offers you one to one attention from a Life Coach who is committed to you and to your success. Your Life Coach empowers you and provides you support and encouragement as you successfully bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. The benefit of Life Coaching is the result: You are happier because you learn and implement a process that enables you to identify what really matters to you. The result is that you are making the changes you want to make in your life.

How is life coaching different from counseling or therapy?

Where coaching follows the expert model, counseling and therapy follow the medical model.

Tony Robbins explains it well: “Therapists help clients explore and understand their subconscious and unconscious mind. Their goal in this exploration is a deep understanding of behaviors and patterns.

Life coaches focus on an individual’s actions and results. Life coaches measure their client’s success with key performance indicators and specific behavioral outcomes and goals.”

How often and for how long does someone see a life coach?

Usually a coaching session is 45 to 60 minutes in length

A weekly arrangement is common, as is weekly with one week off per month. And, just as with therapy, you can see a life coach for as long as you need to.
